Photography has always been a passion of mine.
I find photographing peoples everyday lives enjoyable. Like with design, I find myself drawn to social anthropology, how do people behave in relation to each other and how do they behave within certain public spaces. I believe this is because of my upbringing on a farm in rural Gisborne, and my transition to living in Wellingtons CBD. I have done street photography and street portraiture in my spare time since 2017 but I have been into photography since I can remember.
My enthusiasm for photography lead me to film cameras. I enjoying taking film as it allows a slower and more meaningful approach to the subject. The slower process results in careful and precise decisions. I have been engaging with photography theory through elective course and through my own research. My favourite subjects include, documentary, street scenes, portraiture and occasionally landscape.

100 day Challenge
I challenged myself you take and post at least 1 photo a day for 100 days. I did this to keep myself motivated over the summer break and to try and get outside my comfort-zone. It was during this challenge that I became comfortable with taking photos in public, developed a passion for street photography and asked strangers for a photograph for the first time. I posted this on Instagram where I would reflect on my progress, but posted a more detailed photographic record on 500px. During these 100 days I took over 10,000 photographs.
